Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Adding and Updating Documentation on the Documentation Platform

Overview

This SOP provides detailed instructions for adding and updating documentation on the documentation platform, powered by Mintify, accessed via docs.celebratemercy.com.

Scope

This SOP is applicable to administrators and team members responsible for maintaining and updating the documentation platform for internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Documentation Administrators: Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with organizational standards.
  • Developers: Maintain the structure and organization of the documentation files and folders.
  • Analysts: Monitor platform analytics for performance insights.

Requirements

Process

1. Accessing the Documentation Platform

  1. Navigate to docs.celebratemercy.com.
  2. Click the Edit button in the top-right corner of the page.
  3. If prompted, log in using the [email protected] credentials.

2. Navigating the Mintify Dashboard

  1. Once logged in, view the Mintify dashboard:
    • Review documentation resources, including last update timestamps and editor details.
  2. Access platform analytics via View Analytics to check:
    • Visitor counts.
    • Page view statistics.

3. Editing Existing Documentation

  1. Click Editor in the Mintify dashboard.
  2. Use the left-side panel to locate folders and files:
    • Folders: Organize documentation by category (e.g., Development Tools, Global Salawat Challenge).
    • Files: Represent individual guides or pages.
  3. Select a file from the folder and make necessary edits directly on the right-hand panel.
  4. Once edits are complete:
    • Click Publish to apply changes.
    • Verify updates on the live website.

4. Adding New Documentation to Existing Sections

  1. Add a new document:
    • Navigate to the desired folder (e.g., Development Tools).
    • Create a new file within the folder for the new guide or document.
  2. Update the mint.json file:
    • Locate the JSON configuration for the folder.
    • Add a new line in the format: folder_name/filename.
